With the few reviews this book already had, I was expecting to love this collection of short stories. But I really didn't. In fact, I was kind of bored for most of them. While they each were varying degrees of interesting, none of them really sucked me into the story. And did I really need three pages or more of reading about a vampire giving some dude a shave? No. I didn't. So I skipped those. I did think they were all well written (except for "Light Play" because that one seemed choppy and awkward to me) with good characters though. Overall, this wasn't bad, but I guess it just wasn't quite what I was hoping for.

Ravenous (Triskaidekaphilia Book 2) Edited by Ariel Jade

5 Stars

I was in Vampire heaven!!! I love to read anything vampire and this book certainly filled this love! This book is full of short stories by vairous authors. All of them are unique in their own way and all have a unique perspective into the world of the vampire. Each author has thier own writing style and way to spin the story.

My absolute favorite though would have to be the short story Light Play by Jaap Boekestein. The story is told via third person and is the first of this type that I have read but really enjoyed it. This is a creative way that the author uses this prose to tell the story painting a very vivid picture in your imagination. I will say it might not be everyones cup of tea being BDSM based but I found it to be quite the page turner.

Each short story though is worthy of a 4-5 star on their own. I found myself wanting more and continuing on to the next story not wanting to stop reading!

This was a really great selection of stories featuring vampires. There was such good mix of stories that there is definitely something for everybody in this anthology. They were all well written although I wish some of them had lasted longer as I was completely hooked into them. The pace and flow to each story was really good. Whilst I favoured some stories over others I still think they were a good collection. Most of the authors were new to me so it was great to get a read of some of their work and I will definitely be looking up some of them to read more of their stories. We had space travelling vampires, romantic vampires and vampires into BDSM. One of my favourites was Light Play by Jaap Boekestein told in the third person and I don’t usually like this style of writing but it really suited this story. I found it really well written and highly erotic! I actually really like that it was a male author too. A really good story – I definitely could have read more of this authors writing!
Due to the nature of the content of this anthology I would recommend it is only for mature readers. Any PNR or vampire lover will find something in this anthology to enjoy – I know I did!

Ravenous (Triskaidekaphilia Book 2) by edited by Ariel Jade and with contributions from Wendy Nikel, Jaap Boekestein, Sara Dobie Bauer, Violet R. Jones, V. Hummingbird, Dale Cameron Lowry, R. Michael Burns, and Tiffany Michelle Brown. This is a collection of stories about vampires that are sweet, sexy, naughty, and love that is just forbidden. These authors have created stories that will fit anyone's tastes for vampires. They will pull you in their worlds of outer space, revolutions and just plain falling in love. Some of the stories will leave you wanting more while others will leave you needing ice water to cool off. One of my favorite genes is vampires and this one is at the top of my list. I love vampire stories, they are strong characters with some feisty, attitudes, and take control. You will find these types of characters and more in these stories. I highly recommend this anthology, I know you will want to see what happens when vampires and hunters meet. You don't want to miss these stories!

Ravenous is the second book in the Triskaidekaphilia Series and is a wonderful anthology of stories that all have the same theme and inspiration- Vampires. Each story is unique to the author, bringing a variety of different takes on the theme.
There are nine contributing authors whose tales range from sweet and sexy, to a little dark and kinky- but all of the nine fantastic stories kept me engrossed right till the end.
There is an interesting, kinky take on a Dom/Sub relationship, a vampire hunter love story with a bit of a twist; a sexy and erotic vampire space adventure; one that reads like a vampire coming of age story; and one that is an interesting re-imagining of the Cinderella fairy tale, with vampires taking the lead- and more.
So, if you enjoy paranormal stories, books of fantasy, vampires, romance, and something a little erotic- then this really is the book for you.

Thank you to all the contributing authors!

This collection was not something I would normally read. The stories fit together as a collection. The short stories are fast paced. Some plot points were predictable but not in a way that would keep you from continuing the read.

However if you don’t like vampires (or anything to do with them) or sex (and about anything to do with that) this will not be something you will enjoy.

Regardless this collection will not bore you. If you enjoy this that go bump in the night, and the bumping, this is a must read.
