I'm essentially repeating what another reviewer wrote, but she was right. Because there is no "crisis", this book drags quite a bit. There is nothing to propel the reader through; no urgency. The one "scandal" could have been dragged out, given more mystery, but it is solved in the first few chapters, leaving you with just the characters.

I might re-read this at another time, but for right now, it just couldn't hold my attention.
