Lady Katherine Granville has been in love with Edward Stanhope since she was 16 years old. When her father to give his blessing because Edward was a second son with no future she was devastated. Her heart was further broke when Edward refused to elope with her and chose to join the military. She has pined for him all these years and has given up all hope. She is to marry Lord Sinclair now. She still loves Edward but doesn't understand why is acts so standoffish.

Edward was injured during the war and now suffers from nightmares and has episodes where he relives it. He has now returned home and has been rewarded with the title of Earl of Randolph. He now has a title and money so he could marry Kitty if he wished. He tries his hardest to resist her because he feels like damaged goods and only wants the best for her.

You are going to enjoy the journey the two take to find each other and to admit that love knows no bounds.
