đź’– This sounds like a hippy book to the extreme, which it is. However, once you get past all of the "woo woo", her ideas on combatting anxiety are actually helpful. It tells to focus on the positive, and then we'll realize the number of small miracles that happens every day.

Definitely recommend this for people with anxiety, depression or other mental illnesses. It's not a substitute for medicine or therapy by any means, but it is a helpful addition

In this book, the author explains her experiences in putting the teachings of a book called "A Course In Miracles".
I think if I had read that book, I might understand this one better.
She talks about how she overcomes her negative attitudes in life by putting the concepts in the "Course" book into practice. This includes things like parts of one's being called the "ego" - not the same as the "ego" in psychology, and the ~ing. I never really could understand those things. Perhaps they are defined better in the "course" book. Anyway, it is a lot of self-help, new age type stuff. I imagine that it helped the author - if people believe in anything enough, they can change their lives based on it.
I have, for the time being, given up on this book because I am finding it nonsensical and confusing.
I am glad that the author has found her inner peace though.
I received this book as a goodreads review book.

I was looking for something with more spiritual guidance, rather than a chronology of stories about the authors life. I am a long time student of ACIM and did find a few useful reminders and suggestions for my continued practice.

Decent read. A little too “new age” for me but anything that teaches me to live life more positively (high vibrational thinking) and love more is always a good thing and a much needed reminder.

This is a good book to read if you are just starting out on your spiritual journey. Having read Gabrielle's book The Universe Has Your Back first, I found this to be less of what I needed at this point in my life. The last two chapters however, were much needed reminders.

In between fiction novels and thrillers, I love throwing in a self-help book. My new author to listen to is Gabrielle Bernstein. Sure there are things we've heard before, but her fun, light, non-judgemental tone offers a great way to recharge your spirit.

I think [a:Gabrielle Bernstein|3252390|Gabrielle Bernstein|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1378929851p2/3252390.jpg] will join [a:Diana Cooper|4138|Diana Cooper|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1305295049p2/4138.jpg] & [a:Doreen Virtue|79905|Doreen Virtue|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1250548980p2/79905.jpg]: authors I may read and enjoy every book for without taking them THAT seriously.. I really wanted to like this book but it' really trying way too hard to be what it's not! I appreciate what Gabrielle is trying to do but it's not right (~ing, ~ingTervene, ~ingWrite! Really! -_-) That being said, certain chapters like "Spirit Became my Boyfriend" and "Relationships are Assignments" were five stars for me personally although she didn't explore the ideas as thoroughly as I hoped for..

I really really wanted to love this since I really enjoy Gabrielle vlogs on youtube, but then again it could also be the fact that I read this after [a:Frederick Dodson|4077778|Frederick Dodson|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1392938727p2/4077778.jpg] & [a:Vadim Zeland|506076|Vadim Zeland|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1313441281p2/506076.jpg]

Talk about being led to (or away from) the right book at the right time! I started this one about 9 months ago when I finished May Cause Miracles, but for some reason, I just couldn't stick with it and ended up putting it back on the shelf. Fast forward to a few days ago when a shipment of my belongings (including books) showed up in my new city of residence, and I had the strongest intuition to pick this book up again. Everything I needed to hear right now was addressed in Spirit Junkie - I mean, we're talking about the answers to specific questions I had been asking my inner guides that very morning! I picked up where I left off last June and all the answers were there. I've seen some other reviews which dismiss Gabby's writing style as "flippant" or "too young/slangy," and everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I really didn't get that vibe, especially not "flippant." Gabby's writing is very personal and conversational, and I think we can all agree that different people need to hear the same lesson in different ways. If Gabrielle's writing style opens up the world of spirituality and ACIM for someone who might otherwise have heard it, then that's a miracle! This is a truly inspired piece of writing and I'm so grateful for it.

This book was great. I read it after reading her most recent book, May Cause Miracles and if you're going to read either, I'd suggest you read them in order. I think this book sets up some of the points you go over in May Cause Miracles. However, it's not a huge deal to read them out of order, just a suggestion.

I personally loved both of Bernstein's books and really love her approach and method for sharing her beliefs with people. I definitely can see a change in myself and my life after reading 2 of her books. I would recommend this book to anyone who is really open to the ideas.
