3.5 Stars. A solid ending to an amazing series. I really hate books about war and battle, which is most of the second half of this book, hence my lower score than the rest of the series. I've enjoyed watching Vasilisa grow through out the series and is really one of the great heroines of current literature.
This was everything. I loved it so much. I don't even know what to say I'm too overwhelmed. Beautiful, brutal, bittersweet. This was such a great trilogy and this was an amazing last book. I often feel a sense of emptiness at the end of a series, but right now I feel overflowing. I cried I cheered I mourned I rejoiced. So so SO good.

I fell head over heels in love with the first book, The Bear and the Nightingale, and as soon as the second came out I nabbed it and even though I had a list a mile long of books I wanted to read, I put it before the rest because the first book was THAT GOOD!
