"You were such a sweet child, when I first met you by this very tree," remarked the Bear. "What happened?"
"What happened? Love, betrayal, and time," said Vasya. "What happens to anyone who gros to understand you, Medved? Living happens."
5 starsssssssss !
this was sooooo bittersweet, and truly encapsulates vasya's growth. as i was reading this book i kept thinking about how far she's come and how much she's grown into the person that she has become.
one thing i love and enjoyed in this trilogy is it doesn't heavily stress between 2 different sides like black/white, good/bad, it just is. i'm over books and characters whose main driving force is being the Good to the world (whatever the hell that means) bc a) shut up and b) lit who cares. the way i see it is vasya picking a side that benefits her and the nation the most and sticking by it and making sure victory is on their side (yes ik the author based it on historical context which is also part of why i loved it so much but that's not the point here)
Spoiler
i screamed when vasya went to release the Bear i knew i was going to be one hell of a ride and it did deliver. i love the little medved, morozko and vasya trio it was delicious i'm only sorry it came at such a later time in the trilogy :')

Amazing Book, the only reason I did not give it a perfect 5 stars was that I felt the ending was too short.
I would have liked there to be 20 more pages, where we see Olga, Alyosha and Marya. Like a chance to say goodbye to all the characters who stood by Vasya, instead we were left hanging a little too soon.
