This one was cute!  A little bit Hallmark Christmas movie, a little bit Sex in the City.  It’s got a bit of magic, and a lot of chapters ending with questions that sounded like something form Carrie’s column.  And of course, the glory of New York City.
Avery has always wanted to be on Broadway.  But after a string of rejections, she’s settled in to life with Adam, the perfect guy.  As they’re snuggling up in their gorgeous apartment, with her beautiful new diamond ring on Christmas morning, the feds show up.  Turns out Adam was a total fraud.  While he has to stay in prison, she gets released with no phone and no money and is directed to the Last Phone Booth in Manhattan, where she’s given an address that leads her to see what her life would’ve been like had she made some different choices.
This book is about believing in yourself and following your dreams. And not setting them aside for a man. It’s also very firm on the importance of great girlfriends. And about how your fate is really up to you. It’s cute.  Very Dickensian.   Maybe more of a December read but I think it can be enjoyed year round.

What a cute and quick read! I truly loved seeing a Christmas story where there is romance but at the end of it was all about the main character figuring out what works for her dreams.

A perfect palate cleanser. The Last Phone Booth in Manhattan was a light hearted story that felt like a breeze to get through. Though it didn’t end exactly the way I would have preferred and I would have liked some more exchanges with the phone booth, it was an enjoyable read.

A cute retelling of A Christmas Carol filled with lots of musical references. The scenes featuring the new housemates and boss were the most entertaining. I quess the only critique is that the main character never truly faces significant challenges. While she hits rock bottom, all her problems are almost instantly resolved with minimal effort. Additionally, I would have loved to see more of Marisol in the story.

I got this arc in exchange for an honest review.
