I AM IN SO MUCH PAIN

wowowowowowow

an absolutely shattering book.. but the good shattering? if such thing exists. KL Kreig, you have managed to create such a painfully beautiful piece.. one that invoked so much emotion out of me i was surprised to say the least hahaha here i thought i had the same amount of feels as a cardboard box. As i conclude this small review i can confirm that Roth and especially that darling girl Laurel, will always have a place in my heart.

3.5 STARS
I’m torn on this book.
I liked the characters. They are unique, fun, kind, smart and adorable.
The writing is really good, there’s messages in the story that are important to remember. Plenty of emotional wisdom.
I enjoyed the chapters that were in the past as their romance progressed. They have interesting, quirky and enjoyable conversations and interactions.
They are a fun couple!
They also have chemistry and great sexy times.
Now my conundrum, they were a bit too perfect for me and then when you throw in the heaviness that’s looming, I felt like I was being emotionally manipulated into caring for the purpose of an extreme reaction and emotions.
Also, because one aspect of the end is kind of a foregone conclusion I found myself not getting attached purposely.
I liked parts of the book and I know people who love a well written, emotional (heavy, ugly cry) book will love this.
It just was not a complete match made in heaven for me.
A case of it’s me not you probably.

Time Stamps
By: KL Kreig
Narrated by: Bryant Walker, Austenne Grey

First, let me say, have the tissues ready for this one. It's got moments that brought even me to tears and I rarely cry during a book. Is it because it's sad? Yes, my heart hurt through parts. It is unfair? Absolutely. Is it an incredible love story? By far one of the best. Laurel and Roth met in the most normal of circumstances. Falling in love and getting married is the best of all worlds, but what hits them next is life changing. Dealing with a fatal illness is gut wrenching, but what these two had, the love glue I would call it to hold them together is what brings light to book. Switching from past to present, KL Kreig gives a look at how these two lived and loved and the present given to Roth in the end is priceless. Yes, you too will cry, but the listen is well worth the love. Give it a try.

Bryant Walker and Austenne Grey bring out all the emotions for this one. I was smiling and happy, and scared and crying throughout the entire story. Each pulled on my heartstrings, but never had me giving up on the book. I needed to know how it ended, and I credit these two for keeping me engaged in every part. It's a fantastic story and incredible performance.

Makes you truly appreciate time

It has been four long years since K.L Kreig released a new book, but boy, oh boy was it worth the wait. Time Stamps is a "timeless" classic that will stick with you for years to come.
This isn't a typical story, there isn't another person trying to wreak havoc on the couple, but there is a villain and it is time.

Time is a funny thing, isn't it. We spend most of our childhood trying to speed it along because we can't wait to do whatever we want. Then, we often put things on hold because of X, but in this story, Ms. Kreig reminds us that time is precious.

I loved the way time was used in this novel. We're pushed to the past to learn about the couple and the beginning of their love story. We're brought back to their harsh present and see how things are moving along. Ms. Kreig weaves a string around your heart and tugs when you least expect it. As you can probably imagine, this is an emotional tale, but one that will hopefully make you appreciate the time you do have, and those in it with you.

Enjoy every moment, because you never know when your time is up.

I highly recommend this amazing love story. It was beautiful and I'm honored that Roth and Laurel let me bask in their love for a short time.

Enjoy.

The book was beautifully written. It honestly was a lovely (and heartbreaking) story of love and life. I went in pretty blind about what it actually was about and was not expecting the heaviness and emotions the book had. Chapter 1 told me it may not be a typical romance and I should have known then to put the book down. I go back and forth on if I’d even call this a romance because the ending is so unconventionally happy. I think for me it falls better into the category of romantic fiction. I quite liked that all of Laurel’s chapters were in the past and all of Roth’s were in the present. It made the time jumps manageable for me. I did enjoy the book, it just wasn’t what I was expecting when I picked it up. I shed a few tears in the last 10% so this book gets the honor of being the first book of 2024 to make me cry. Do with that tidbit of info what you will. 🙃

I am shattered. This was such an ordinary and yet epic love story. I’m so glad I read this book but I will never read it again. My heart simply cannot handle it.

This story in audiobook was a wild emotional ride! Roth and Laurel's love story is beautifully chaotic, with the past-present narration hitting all the feels. The author weaves joy, tears, and belly laughs seamlessly. The characters, especially Roth, are like your best bookish friends. Listening to Bryant Walker and Austenne Grey narrate is a whole mood – they breathe life into every word, making you ugly cry one moment and laugh out loud the next. The quotes about love and life are spot-on and hit you right in the heart. This audiobook is an emotional rollercoaster you won't want to get off. Time well spent!

I think I got to like page 13 and stopped reading. I was getting secondhand embarrassment from her clothing choice and her “boring” looks. Per her words. I’m assuming she’s supposed to have like an awkward, quirky attitude that’s supposed to come off as funny, which If done write it definitely can but in this case it doesn’t, it just comes off annoying and childish. This is just my subjective opinion. I think you’ll either really love it or really hate it.

Edit: at first I rated it 1 star but I just skipped to Chapter 4, if I kept reading Laurels personality I would’ve stopped reading I needed to get to the plot.

Well that was a ride. I wasn't sure what to think going into this book but I was kind of scared. I was scared that I was gonna be mad at this book for not giving me what I wanted. I was right to be mad. But this book also gave me everything I wanted; including an ending to mend my already broken heart. Laurel and Roth have end game love. They are what make happily-ever-after stories worth it. But theirs is not a happily-ever-after. Theirs is a trip down the road of tragedy and pain. A gut wrenching, carry a tissue with you, road. This story had me smiling but it also had me crying. It had me loving life but also hating time. I'm honesty glad I took that chance and read it as this story will stick with me. Its not my normal read and I know I won't go searching for more. But by reading this I got to meet Laurel and Roth and I got to follow their deep never ending love. A love story I will always cherish.
