3.5 stars. I enjoyed this book and read it quickly, solid summer fare. It’s Cinderella + The Bachelor + Divergent, light and entertaining.

I will say that the writing and the concept was engaging. I did want to see what would happen next in the story. However, I didn't like that the main character, America, was sneaking around a lot, and even being in bed with a guy kissing passionately. I was also annoyed with how she was handling her relationships as the story progressed. There are use of curse words (especially towards the ending of the book). Overall, this was not a book for me, and I will not be continuing the series.

Es un libro maravilloso, es muy facil de leer ybte engancha desde la primera página, es una historia muy linda y tierna, en pocas palabras la historia me encanto, sobre los personajes no podria decir menos, es que los protagonistas son asombrosos, america es una chica muy decidida y sobre todo sencilla, se gana el corazon de la gente por su nobleza y sencilles, no es la tipica chica que cambia al momento de tenerlo todo ella sigue siendo fiel a si misma a pesar de estar en el castillo, y el principe es un chico agradable y sencillo nada de egoista al contrario, creo que hasta es un poco timido. Ame la relacion que tienen los dos como su amistad va creciendo a lo largo de la historia. Creo que es un libro que te llena en todos los sentidos tiene momentos divertidos y romanticos

It took me a while to actually like the book because of how slow the pace was up until we meet the Prince and his world. I do wish there were more court politics rather than catty drama between contestants of the Selection. It was a light fun read to have while still being quarantined. Once I gave the book more of a chance, I started to enjoy the character of Maxson and America and their friends turned lovers storyline. Side note don’t completely understand Aspen and how he pops into the story, seemed a little abrupt and weird on the way he shows up.



I will be reading the next book to see if the story gets any better, but if it doesn’t I am DNF-ing the series.
