A fun, quick read, perfect for the beach.

An insane premise that actually worked. It's great on Audiobook! Not a ton of character development, but in a murder mystery that's not usually a strong point is it? But fun and different and definitely atmospheric. I'd read another one in the series!

I so badly wanted to live this book. Queen Elizabeth solves crimes! Catnip. But instead, the book is much more Queen Elizabeth Has Hunches And Asks Her Staff To Find Things Out For Her. I wish that, as long as we were engaging in this fantasy, the author had gone whole hog and let Lizzie snoop around with a magnifying glass or behave like a proper Poirot anyway.

Queen Elizabeth II, with the help of her assistant Rozie, investigates the death of a young pianist that took place in Windsor Castle.

This is a quirky sort of cozy mystery, and I enjoyed the many humorous moments and the warmth with which the queen was portrayed, even though I am fairly neutral on the subject of the royals. However, I thought the other characters, including Rozie, were not as fleshed out. I also did not really like that the mystery tended into political intrigue, as it made the climactic scene of the reveal not very engaging.

Aavistuksen häiritsevä lukukokemus, osittain koska päähenkilö menehtyi vasta tosielämässä, mutta myös, koska dekkarin salapoliisi ylipäätään on olemassa oleva julkisuuden henkilö. Erikoinen konsepti kaiken kaikkiaan.
