Cassie Barclay is your stereotypical scientist. At least for romance. She's not interested in her appearance. She's ubersmart about science but not the rest of the world but she manages to make some female friends who are willing to help her out.
Samuel Tucker is just built to be her alpha male He's a football player (not a footballer, please. Even the Australians, which I think Cassie is but it was definitely somewhere in the geographical region, don't call them footballers, (at least none of the ones the ones that I've met) not footballers. That's a soccer player.) He's got charm, looks, brains, and money. And we hear about them all. Incessantly.
And good god, what was Cassie attracted to about him? Oh right, it was his pheromones. How do we know that? Because we're beaten over the head with it. She's always sniffing him or smelling him or just... why, why in a short novel do we need to see that over and over and over and (you get the point).
You don't need to read the other book in the series to get this one but I would also argue that you probably don't need to read this book at all.

Light and pretty cute, I guess, but Cassie's use of "logical" seemed to be a code word for "nonsense," especially when she used it in reference to behavioral science-y speculations. In terms of the romance, I don't know. There wasn't a lot of there there.

“This is love? I thought love was supposed to be wonderful? This doesn’t feel wonderful.”

I read this one because I just wanted a feel-good romance to relax but it was so much more than I expected. Girl Least Likely to Marry was fun to read, I definitely enjoyed it. Not to mention Tuck and Cassie's chemistry was out-of-this-universe amazing.

Review to come.

Best part about this story was that Cassie didn't need to change who she was or have some huge makeover to get the super hot guy.

I absolutely hate when geek, genius women are presented like this, like they are completely unable to reach their emotional side because they are geek. I guess I have the awful Big Bang Theory to thank for that. So, this one was a no for me.

This is a romance where a genius woman meets a not so dumb jock. It's mostly a two characters story. It's part of a series but I didn't feel the need to read the others.

Cassie and Samuel 'Tuck' Tucker courtship is not your average romance. It's geek scientist, Cassie, meets retired quarterback jock Tuck and sparks flies. Cassie approaches her libido waking up with logic and both Cassie and Tuck embark on a passionate, yet adorable relationship that isn't a relationship.

A quick, funny and different romance. Recommended because it's adorable and geeky.

I agree with the mixed reviews of this. I wanted to like the quirky geek Cassie. She reminded me a little of Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory and, unlike that show, I didn't ever feel like this story was laughing at her. Through Tuck's observations of her, Cassie is shown to be wonderful the way she is. But the whole "pheromone" thing became pretty off putting. No respectable scientist (even an astronomer) is going to treat pheromones as irrefutable hard science. But hey okay she likes the way Tuck smells. I can accept that. I'd even buy her using that as a way of denying her feels. But it just went on and on and on. And "magical unicorn that makes heroine orgasm when she never has before" is not a cliche I'm into so adding that to the pheromones just piled on way too much. By the time Tuck proposed at the end, hurling magic answers for all of Cassie's serious concerns I was done. I know this is the wedding season series but either they needed a couple hundred more pages or a HFN ending. So two stars for Cassie because she is an unconventional heroine and I liked her.
