I thought I had everything figured out...I did not. This was really good!! Chevy Stevens is one of my favorite authors and I can't wait to read more from her. There's a lot of triggers in this book so be sure to look at the content warnings.

It didn’t live up to the hype. I think the bad guy was revealed way WAY too early. I also don’t think we needed all these characters (Amber, Beth etc) to validate the history behind the story. Dark Roads almost seemed white washed, the focus is on Beth (Amber’s sister) who is a white girl from the city trying to solve her sister’s death.

A story of women being murdered on a dark, desolate highway and the killer being on the loose, this book has so many twists and turns it’s unbelievable. Power, greed, deception, and downright disturbing sexual fantasies make this murder mystery so much more than just a whodunnit. The characters are raw and real and infinitely flawed. The killer is not who I thought it was going to be but I realized it wasn’t who I thought it was RIGHT before the twist. This book kept me guessing in the best way. Also, ACAB - cause this book…man.

Folks, Chevy Stevens does it AGAIN with another five star read. This book is told in 3 parts (swipe for book description). Part one is told in 1st person, part two is told in 3rd person and part three switches between 1st and 3rd person. I absolutely loved this style. It totally worked for this book. I absolutely loved the characters, mainly Hailey and Wolf but found myself invested in all of the characters. This book was a page-turner and I ended up binge reading most of it on a long car ride. If you haven’t read any Chevy Stevens, I don’t know what you’re waiting for but I highly recommend you pick up one of her books (this one included)!  This was one of my most anticipated books this year and it definitely lived up to my expectations.

wow !! what an amazing story !! This was my first Chevy Stevens book and Im OBSESSED!!

Girls have been found dead along Cold Creek Highway and the killer has not been caught. Hailey is a 17 year old just trying to live her life after her parents both died. Unfortunately, living with her horrible uncle Vaugn as been nothing but a nightmare for her. She discovers something horrible and decides to run away, deep in the woods where no one can find her. While there, she finds the body of another girl, her girlfriend Amber and is convinced she knows who the killer is. She is determined to catch him. A year later, Ambers sister Beth decides she needs to go to Cold Creek for closure on her sisters murder. What she finds is so much more, and definitely worse.

I really loved this book so much !! This book had 3 parts: Hailey (in first person), Beth (in third person), and alternating. I loved how she incorporated more than one POV. I love seeing how the same story effects different Characters. The characters were all great... so easy to love and some very easy to hate. I also really loved that she included even more info into the prologue and epilogue to add more detention to the story in a completely different way. This story was based off a true story, so it made more of an impact knowing that the tragic things that happened to these girls, really happened.

I will definitely be picking up more of Chevy Stevens Books in the future !! Highly Recommend!
