Jack Reacher is a beast. A behemoth of a man, Child is clearly in love with his own creation. The one liners within will remind the best of us of the brainless action of a bygone era, but this book, as much as it will allow, attempts to it's macho tendencies with a suspenseful plot.

While I enjoyed this book, it's important to not enter expecting a literary crime masterpiece. Killing Floor is in it's essence a procedural. Go in cocked and locked seeking a mystery and most importantly, enjoy.

I started reading this because of the Reacher series on Prime.

I loved how most of the important nitty-gritty details from the book were incorporated into the series. I’ve saved all 31 books by Lee Child, and I’m hoping to finish them all ---- someday. Ha! :D

This first book in the series really pulled me in with its fast-paced action and smart, no-nonsense storytelling. I did drift off a bit in the middle, but that’s okay — my pacing picked up again near the end when the secrets were revealed. It’s easy to see why Jack Reacher has become such an iconic character
