3.5 stars The beginning was a bit slow but it was building up a whole system. As the main issues came up it became a bit more even-paced but not rushed. The conclusion was well written and the setup for the next book showed up but without making it a need for the reader to be waiting impatiently. The characters are well-rounded and complex, making this a good read in the YA category.
