I mostly enjoyed this book! I read it through a combination of audiobook and the hardcover that I got from OwlCrate - and it's possible that my audiobook experience influenced my feelings toward the book. I actually liked most of the narrators - except for Tristan's. Everytime Tristan's narrator came up, I wanted to cringe away. For both his version of Tristan and the hag. I can't really describe it, but I learned when I listened to/read the second book - and I made sure to read the physical copy of the book anytime Tristan came up.

But aside from my mixed feelings about the narrators, I really enjoyed the characters and their adventures! Tristan truly was a little difficult to like at first, and so was Aziza, although I liked her better. But Leo was definitely my favorite! I loved his optimism, even though he was clearly going through his own difficult time with his curse. It was great when the three stories finally converged, and they all started working together!

Overall, I still enjoyed the book - but the story wasn't my favorite. It wasn't bad! It was still very interesting and intense! I just didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the characters.
