This sequel addresses all the issues I had had with the original. Where RP1 had focused on nostalgia through the rose colored glasses that is often required for it while letting Wade/Parzival's major character flaws fall to the backburner, RP2 explores the major problems of pop culture of the late 20th century and nerd culture of the early 21st

Would've liked to give 3.5 stars. Good, but not great. The ending was really good though!

I’m a little torn on this and would probably give it 3.5 stars. I hate what they did with Wade’s character but it does make sense as it happens to a lot of good people who come into power. The premise was interesting enough, but nothing shocking to me. There just seemed to be some plot holes and things that were left unknown that left me not feeling completely satisfied. That didn’t keep me from a shedding a tear towards the end, though. The parts that were nostalgic for me were great, as always, but when they focus chapter after chapter on a piece of pop culture that you don’t particularly like, it can make it relatively grueling to get through which was the case with a certain section for me. I can see them making it into a fun movie, though, so I am excited for the sequel to come out.

An impressively insane book entirely concerned with references in an entirely mindnumbing way that culminates in a statement that AI existence is ultimately superior. The one star is for the enjoyment of telling my friends how mental the journey was.

Saw this in the library and borrowed it. I enjoyed the read but some parts where a bit too drawn out in my opinion, and others were glossed over a bit too quickly. It was fun, though!
