Wolves of the Calla

Thank God there was more action than in Wizard and Glass. A familiar face from another Stephen King book shows up and plays an integral part of this plot, so don't skip on reading 'Salem's Lot between Wizard and Wolves. A lot of scheming, a lot of blossoming romances, Roland being my favorite color of morally grey, a lot of action. Interestingly paced, and also a lot of intrigue and more slow burn world building. Overall, it earned a 7/10 from me, as some parts did admittedly feel disjointed and some parts just fell flat. Still a great addition to the series and another wonderful adventure along the path of the Beam.

I enjoyed getting to know more of Jake in this book and how there are more mentions and connections to King’s other works. But some narratives again felt disconnected, hence the lower rating for me. Still had some fun though and I’m invested in the journey to the end.

Just more of the story.. more pieces tying together but still leaving questions. This book was overall weird to me in some parts

Definitely not my favourite but still better than the first book. Feels like the lead-up to the climax is a little too drawn out, although I understand the importance of building the character relationships. The final 10% is great as always although like I said, there could have been a little less palaver.

Overall I enjoyed the read but I did but the book down for a couple of months in the middle as I just didn't feel motivated to read it.
