Wonderful fantasy!

I think it could have been much shorter. Like half as short. It did come together in the end though.

Well written and entertaining but largely uneventful.

Yes yes yes, I loved this one!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy!!!!!!!!!! After the clusterfuck that was WIZARD AND GLASS, I needed a break from this series and going into this one, I was so worried that maybe I would end up dnf'ing the rest of it... BUT NO, ha, the opposite happened, yaaay.
I loved the small town and its inhabitants so much more than the one in the previous book. The plot was also so much more enjoyable this time around, more at stake, more noble for our ka-tet, so much more intriguing. Also loved the side plot, with them going to New York and trying to protect the rose. Also the stuff happening with Suzanna is wild, cannot wait to see how that continues in the next one. Ah, I'm just so thrilled that book 4 was just a dud and not the end of the series for me and that this one was back on par with the other books.

This was not my favorite so far on my journey to the dark tower. I usually sit on my thoughts before writing a review however it's fresh tonight so this will be scattered. It's something else to see Jake age, and who doesn't love Oy. Roland is the same, as is Eddie. Susannah has yet another version of herself and I've about had it. I appreciate that Roland had a taste of a small romance, gosh darn it he deserves a woman's touch! I enjoy that someone else from their time was transported through to Calla Bryn Sturgis, to happen upon them and have ka unite them for a this time being. If I have to read about this lot in one more book! I know now it's definitely not the end of that, but how bout that, they came back and it was meant to be, thank goodness Eddie thought to go back. I wanted so badly to like Father Callahan, for all his confessions and being human, but he put me to sleep. Vampires? Quite frankly I'd like to go Todash after this. I'm being dramatic. I'm glad the wolves were handled. The experience of both happiness and loss is quite relatable and to that sort of ending I am appreciative. I am not a savant, and so the amount of characters left me feeling a bit detached. I speak true, cry your pardon.
