The Dark Tower series of seven books is an epic tale created by Stephen King over the course of his entire writing career. It pulls together characters, locations and concepts from many of his other books. It is an incredibly long read, but a must for anyone who has read and enjoyed Stephen King.

My favorite of the series so far! Loved that we were back with Roland, Eddie and the rest of the Ka-tet in this one! The setting was amazing. The story was interesting. I love these characters! I really love how King has connected this series to so many of his other books! It was exciting to find a character from Salem's Lot in this one, and to even hear that story told again. I will definitely be rereading The Stand after this series is complete!

My favorite of the Dark Tower series

And always will be. If you get it, you get it, if you don’t, you won’t. But it’s my... what? 20th read-through? And I still adore it.

A little bit too long and belabored in the middle, but the climax is one of the best so far.

Book five.

I stopped this one in the middle to read HP, and thus, it was hard for me to stick it out and it took longer to get through. I can't be the only one to blame though. This was my least favorite in teh series so far. It was about 200 pages too long because King injected it with all this filler. A more straight-to-the-point story would have been more enjoyable rather than muddling through the mire of verbosity he created to get to the big payoff at the VERY end.

It should be noted though: the payoff was worth it.

This novel is my favorite Dark Tower book so far. The story in Calla was wonderful.
I did notice some pacing issues, but not many.
I listened to the audiobook.
