It's definitely an improvement from the last book but still far away from being a great book. I guess the absurdity of the dialogues really rubs me the wrong way. It is an 800 page book but still feels like King tried to do too much, squishing too many subplots in between the covers.

On par with The Drawing of Three and Wizard and Glass, and definitely better than The Gunslinger. The only disappointment is that the book spends almost the entire time building up suspense for the battle with the Wolves, but then the battle passes by so quickly and is condensed into a few pages at the end.
