I've been meaning to pick neon gods up forever and what a delight. I'm a sucker for any Hades and Persephone retelling. Good consenting practices as well, which is always a relief.

I needed more romance to go with the sex. It just jumped right into their desire for each others bodies and didn’t have much of a story behind their whole relationship. It just felt super fast.

The world building was fun and unique but not fleshed out enough to my liking, and the author did a lot more telling than showing. Still, it was a super cute and ~spicy~ romance story and I found myself caring about hades and Persephone harder than I thought I would.
