Rushed and predictable are probably the best words I could use to describe this. The description was only found it the sex scenes which got repetitive at some point. I got tired of reading the words "toe curling" and "breathless" at some point. Reading the comments, I would have to agree that this felt like a long epilogue. Again, it wasn't awful, but I think there should be more character and history development as well as action.

I am going to keep this review short and sweet. I have been a HUGE Katy Evans fan since I picked up Real and she is one of the few authors whose book I don't hesitate in picking. Every single time there is something new and no two characters are the same. The male protagonists might inhabit the same alpha characteristics with a side of protectiveness and a whole lot of swoon, yet she manages to separate them and give them a personality that is bit hard to resist.

Now, while I absolutely LOVED Mr. President and every aspect of the book, I feel that Commander in Chief didn't quite reach that level. Katy writes angst that makes my heart stop and I need to read those angst-y lines at least three times before I can digest the seriousness of the situation. Commander in Chief is light and more on the sweeter side than Katy's previous books and while I enjoyed reading the book, it was the angst that I was craving for.

There is a particular scene, where Matt and Charlotte, I wouldn't say fight, but rather a disagreement but at that moment I had a very short glimpse of the angst that I was wanting. Both Matt and Charlotte have this conversation where for one short moment I saw a very slight distance between the two and you know what?

I wanted that. I wanted that particular segment to spread out more because that scene, that scene gripped me and I wanted more. Just a bit more.

Otherwise, there is high level intensity between Matt and Charlotte, there is so much love and romance and all around sweetness with just a dash of the past coming to haunt Matt.

Do I recommend you this series? Yes!

Why? Well, because it is Katy Evans we are talking about and trust me, her books are worth the shot.
Pick any of her books. Worth it!

4 Stars!

Overall the same issue I had with the first novel; undeveloped. We get basically snapshots of their lives together and their relationship.

SWOON! Oh President Hamilton! Why can’t we have him being sworn in? The passion between Charlotte and Matt is just beyond off the charts! It is more than just sexual. It is a connection on every level. These two are picture perfect together but not without their ups and downs. I love the emotional journey these two are on as they go through the motions of becoming lovers to a couple to finally being each other’s ever after.
I think what was absolutely amazing with this series from Evans, is that she has the perfect blend of the politics which is a huge player, but also you get the relationship parts. The tough choices. The paparazzi and more. It all flowed seamlessly.
This book evoked a lot of emotions and a lot of laughs. I have to say, I am a huge Remy girl, but Matt has a special place in my heart now. He is just wow on so many levels as well. Nothing beats a hot man in a suit and some glasses… SWOON!

Yes! Charlotte and Matt... I mean Mr President are back!

Following on from were Mr President ends, Commander in Chief is the perfect ending to our lovelies story.

I just adored this book so much. Sure, Matt and Charlotte have challenges they need to overcome to hopefully get to their HEA. Unlike so many other books out there these days, though they have challenges, there is no over the to drama for drama's sake - don't get me wrong, it has it's place, but not here.

Commander In Chief is an angst free, sweet and sexy continuation of their story. There are plenty of sexy times, lots of President-y times, but mostly just Matt and Charlotte times.

I think the USA needs a new election and Vote 1 Matthew Hamilton for President (instead of that tangerine tinted buffoon who is about to be sworn in!)

The only thing I didn't lie about Commander In Chief - that the story ended. I sat and read this book in one day, needing to know what happened, but not wanting to reach the last page.

Now I am impatiently waiting for what Ms Evans brings us next.

I absolutely loved Matt and Charlotte. This was a great story and a fresh of breath air from the same story lines.

The beginning was okay I guess, continuing with that secret relationship trope (that I love for some reason). After that it got pretty bad but I didn't want to leave it as a DNF so I just ended up skimming through it to finish it.

... nice ... boring ... i didn’t like some of the descriptions and i was tired of Charlotte being ‘sweet’ and ‘untainted’ or whatever
the plot was just so boring like i wanted a thriller roller coaster
also some aspects of their relationship were cringy weird

Loved it! This series is so unique and not being from the USA it was really interesting to learn more about their politics. I ate up every word and didn't want to put it down and was sad when it was over. 4.5 stars.
