First of all, this might be one of my favourite festive reads. Ever. This one’s a wholesome cosy festive love story.

The story follows Margot Murray who’s a newly single, high-flying businesswoman with no interest in a cutesy seasonal romance. Then there’s Ben Gibson is an unlucky-in-love sweetheart in need of a woman to bring home for the holidays. Together, they make a pact: Margot gets a blissful week away from London in a picture-perfect manor, in exchange for posing as Ben’s girlfriend. The story can only go one way. Margot is sure to fall in love for real.

And at this point you might be asking me, why did this big hetero love story make me feel the warm festive fuzzies. It’s because Bens sister Ellie enters the story. What starts off feeling hectic and dramatic, soon turns into Margot finding out things about her past she didn’t expect to uncover, and truly learning to accept her own happiness.

This story throughout is sure to have you missing your grandparents, feeling nostalgic for wholesome Christmassy pastimes and just generally loving this whole book cover to cover.

This was cute but characters felt a little underdeveloped & waiting for so long to tell Ben felt unnecessary?
