I don't think I enjoy Cora Reily nearly as much as I used to and for that I'm sad. She was my introduction into mafia romance and dark romance in general and I adored a very large number of her books last year. Unfortunately, I really can't get into her new books, I don't know what it is but I just never get into the stories anymore...

After reading the most recent releases by Cora Reilly (namely Adamo's story and the Bound by Blood Anthology) I was quite apprehensive when it came to reading this book, especially given that the captor-captive trope had been done previously with Remo and Serafina. However, the plot offered twists I hadn't expected, although there were still some very predictable elements to the story, enjoyed how Marcella's book played out, especially since it has not yet finished and the story focused less so on romance and more on family loyalty versus doing what you want to do.
