I missed that this was a rom-com. If I had I would have passed on this one altogether since that's a genre I almost never like. If you want a queer romcom about getting magical revenge on a cheater, you might like this. It's just not my thing.

If you can get past the writing style and the often unfortunate voice of the main character, this is a fast and arguably fun read. This book is at its best in describing the action of the challenges or in gentle, emotional interactions between 2 to 3 characters. It suffers from an excess of similie, sentences being redundant or going a touch too long, and an uncomfortable number of pulls from pop culture. (Yoda mentioned twice? For what end?) If you're interested in queer Witches and a fun plot and the, uh, poppy, "cheeky" tone doesn't drag at you, this could be the book for you.
