Leave it to Penny Reid to make a jerk like Jackson James a hero. Also, omg… can we make CAKE WEEK a real thing? This was a fun rom-com. As always, Ms Reid creates characters with so many layers. I enjoyed spending time with Jackson and Rae. Onto book two for Charlotte and Hank's story!

This was fine, very light fare… it made me happy and had a soothing quality, but for real, not much went on in it. It was just these two mains hanging out, trying not to have a relationship but being pulled together because of intense chemistry and then right before anything happens

I loved this book. Penny Reid is so awesome and such a creative force in writing. Reading her books in another spinoff of the Winston Brothers series is like visiting old friends...just from a different point of view. So clever! Another great love story and other visit with my favorite characters in Green Valley!

Honestly, I was nervous when I picked up this book. I have had so many mixed emotions when it came to Jackson James. However, I shouldn't have because Penny Reid had a plan and that plan 1000% worked.

This book is a folking fantastic, friends! And here's all the reasons why I love it:

+ So much angst and pining.
+ It's a slow burn of sorts.
+ The swoon
+ Jackson is so incredibly noble and empathetic.
+ Racquel has some sass. I love a sassy character.
+ The incredible side characters of Dave, Charlotte and Miguel
+ The fact that we get more Siena and Jethro
+ Cletus, always Cletus
+ Jackson and Jess's sibling dynamic

If you are a huge fan of the Winston series and love to escape to Green Valley, do not miss this book! If you have not read the Winston series, that's ok. You can read this as a standalone without missing a thing.

Thank you Social Butterfly PR and Penny Reid for the advance copy!
