very much for young adult audiences and those beginning to understand power and empire — which is a good thing, there should be more stories that break down our status quo in comprehensive terms and still go on to leave a hopeful message. plus, the art is so charming and full of life!

This book contained a well developed world with many subplots, details and diverse races.
It was also full of violence, war and discriminations against those different races. There was too much bloodshed for me. The bullying felt immature. And, the curses were just unfortunate, since otherwise this could've appealed to a much younger audience. There was also one character with female-looking hair, who I later discovered was male.
Overall, I found this to be confusing, and immature.

Should've been longer to go more in depth in its themes and character development. It felt like it was trying to accomplish too much for how short it was. Otherwise the art is gorgeous and it was still a potentially tought provoking read.

Tesadüfen karşıma çıkan grafik romanlardan oldu ve okumaktan da büyük bir keyif aldım. Çizimleri muhteşem ama enteresan bir şekilde karakterlerden çok mekanların ve detayların çizimleri göze çarpıyor. Doğunun özellikle de Ürdün’ün kültürü, dini, gelenekleri birleştirilerek bambaşka bir dünya oluşturulmuş ve bu yüzden ortaya çıkan eser oldukça orijinal olmuş. Tarihin anlatılmasıyla gerçekte neler yaşanmış olduğu arasındaki farklılığı ya da başka bir deyişle tarihin kimin tarafından anlatıldığına dikkat etmemiz gerektiği hakkında. Ana karakter ezilen bir sınıfa ait ve karşısına Squire (bir çeşit kahraman asker) olma fırsatı çıktığında kimliğini gizleyerek yeni bir hayata başlıyor. Bu süreçte kültürünü, yaşadığı toplumu da gözden geçiriyor. Dediğim gibi özellikle mekan çizimleri müthişti. Konusu da ilgi çekiciydi sanki dev bir kitap okumuşum hissi verdi. Büyük bir özenle oluşturulduğu ve her detaya önem verildiği çok belli. Bu tarz kitapları sevenlere kesinlikle tavsiye ederim.
