The writing would take me out of it. He uses the word ass 5 times in the first page and i get hes trying to write from a "follower" college student and then an eccentric morbid woman in her late 20s, but it comes off vapid and flat. Honestly Silas seemed like the more imteresting character

This was an unexpectedly emotional read for me. The discussion of grief and addiction was beautifully written. There were moments where I thought, "ok already, lets move it along" and other times I was gasping. Overall, I really enjoyed it.

I do advise to read trigger warnings. Some scenes are incredibly dark.

I got pretty close to finishing this, but just couldn't. It took me all month to read it and I was sick of it

The story had a lot of promise, and it’s just became very frustrating to keep reading. I understand the message that is coming from it but the ending was also extremely frustrating.

Clay's my favorite author for a reason ! this book really hit it out of the park for me . it's not quite a 5 simply because it didn't scare me quite like some of his other titles , but it was absolute perfection in every other way ! men writing women (especially in horror) tends to go awry quickly , but never have I felt that Clay's work treats women like anything other than well rounded chatacters with depth , personality , and their own story to tell . i'm a slut for an allegory , and this one was gorgeous .
