3.5 stars. Good content, but could have been condensed for just as much impact in half the length.

Enormously interesting and thought provoking study into the relationship between having a passion for a goal and having persistence to reach it.
Much of the writing on determination chimes with other books I've read and with my own experiences - it is staggering what can be accomplished if one is determined enough and has a belief that something is possible. But I was more interested in how one develops a life long passion or interest in a higher goal. Intriguingly passion can sometimes develop out of perseverance rather than arriving in one flash of revelation at an early age; and there is a lot of emphasis on having an open, "growth" mindset that allows for changes of course that can result in second and third successful careers.
Next I want to read something about changing course in mid life!
Best quote from the book: GB Shaw, "This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognised by yourself as a mighty one.. the being a Force of Nature.."

This is such an informative book. It is a must-read for the strivers of the world, parents, coaches and anyone who wants to help foster grittiness. I will be going back to this book over and over again.

Might finish this book eventually but just want to take the book out of my currently reading because I’m so over it at this point. It’s just the same thing over and over and overall pretty boring! Unnecessarily long book that explains the same points repeatedly.
