A nature writer tells the story of the runt piglet she and her husband adopt and how he enriches their lives. He gave her the unconditional love she was denied by her parents and enabled them to connect with children and others in their small New Hampshire community. A nice reflection on the role animals can have in our lives.
Such a cute read. Christopher Hogwood is absolutely adorable. I love seeing how a pig could have such a big influence on so many lives. He was loved by so many and I fell in love with him in his life story.

Such a delightful story about a wonderful being! It was incredible to see and feel how Sy and Howard loved Christopher Hogwood and embraced him as a member of their family. Christopher also became a beloved member of the larger community too. Families don't all look the same! I am excited to read more of Sy's books. Her reverence for the natural world is beautiful and inspiring!
Really liked this. Montgomery's writing is straightforward and interesting. Laughed during many chapters, then sobbed like a baby at the end even though I knew what was going to happen. If you are an animal lover, pick this one up and enjoy.
