This book broke my heart.

A 31-years old guy in love with an 18-years old?

My first read of 2023. Also the first book that held my interest to physically read it start to finish with really no slow spots. But is it good? Idk I’ve been in a slump and I’m trying different books. And to be honest, this sounded good. I liked the characters. There are so many trigger warnings so look those up.

**Spoilery** I just feel like my experience was tainted a tad because I knew something sad was going to happen at the end which from others reviews isn’t a spoiler, but I kind of think it is. So the whole time I’m trying to predict it and it was kinda predictable. Like I somewhat guessed the ending.

Anyway, it was an attention keeping book and no I didn’t cry and yes I’m going to pick up the next book.

I have literally no idea how to rate this book. I flew through it because I felt invested, but I also truly could not not stand the way a number of things were handled. I’m going to wait to rate it until I read the second book. Stay tuned.

“Love is like wildflowers; It’s often found in the most unlikely places.” —Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Flowers grow out of dark moments.” —Corita Kent

Honestly I am a little dissapointed. It is a really good concept and K read some reviews of boontubers I follow and they were loving about the book. So i expected. But it did not coherent with my expectations.

Some things felt rushed, sometimes plots were just spitted without a lead of some sorts. Also, there is TW for sexual abuse, and I expected the book to be more emotional then it was because of all the TWs. But , okay they speak about it, but it’s not the biggest concept of the book.
Also I really liked Salem and T together, but sometimes the lines that T said were not at all convincing or at least convincing to me.
It’s a sad day. The first 60% was really good and I really liked it but after that… I really wish I liked it more, because Smeltzer is one if my favs

The Confidence of Wildflowers was such a hyped book, and surprisingly, I gave in and went ahead and read it... Well, the joke is on me. Maybe Micalea Smeltzer is just not an author for me, but I hated everything in this book. The pacing, the drama, and especially the cliffhanger.

PS. I'm not going to continue the duet because I asked my friend to spoil the events in the second book for me. And all I'm going to say is, the death of a child was NOT worth it.
