This book was SO. GOOD. Comedy, tragedy, sarcasm, and some wonderfully written spicy scenes. I’ll be running to my local book store tomorrow for The Resurrection of Wildflowers.

Okay.. this book was a little too fast paced for me. I love me a good single parent trope, but this one didn't really do it for me. I did not like the ending and felt like I didn't see their love develop. Instead it felt like a insta-love story and idk. I loved Thayer, he is super grumpy but also sweet. I just couldn't fall in love with Salem. I have no idea if I am gonna read the next one, but I do hear that the second one will tie in and everything will make more sense.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Whoa! Going into this story I knew there was an age gap between Salem & Thayer. I was slightly hesitant at first but the way they met and how their relationship was just natural…I loved their chemistry. If you enjoy grumpy/sunshine type love….this is for you.

Without giving too much away, there’s a plot twist/cliffhanger I did NOT see coming that left me speechless. Do not read this duo separately. You have to jump right into The Resurrection of Wildflowers otherwise you’re going to be left with your mouth on the floor.

TW: cancer, age gap, mention of rape/incest, death

I will never be the same after reading this book wow

It hurts so bad. I went into this a little bit blind but immediately fell in love with the whole age-gap, grumpy single dad neighbor sort of thing. There was one thing that happened, despite loving the book, that made me irritated with it, but as a whole it has my entire heart. I type this with a lump in my throat because I was NOT expecting what happened towards the end. My heart has been ripped out and it hurts so bad. This book ends on a cliffhanger so know there is no HEA, at least from this first book.

Check trigger warnings before going into this book!

I may be a little biased as my husband was 30 when we met and I was 19 but this book spoke to me in so many ways. It tore me apart! The emotions and internal conflicts that both Salem and Thayer feel are so true to life. This is a great read and I can’t wait to finish the second in the duet. Although I have to let the tears clear up first.
emotional slow-paced

I can’t finish this book it is not for me. I dnf around 60% apparently before all the drama goes down, but I went into it blind and just got bored.

4.5⭐️ I really enjoyed the writing in this and the plot twists really got me (i cried)

Lots of writing errors and the end sped up to finish but overall I really liked the characters.
