ARC REVIEW

the last 10% of this book BROKE me. i’m seriously not okay.

Thayer is a grumpy, single dad who moves in next door to Salem, a sunshine girl with a traumatic past . I immediately fell in love with both characters and their relationship was just everything. Thayer really set the standards high, he was so sweet yet possessive once he fell for Salem and i loved that about him. I’m a sucker for an age gap and single parent romance and this was done perfectly.

Overall i loved this book and can not wait for book 2 to be released and hopefully it can heal my broken heart after that ending.

Damn the cliffhanger this book leaves you on! Definitely has you reaching for the next one!

I really enjoyed this book. I found it very repetitive, but it was easy to ignore as my connection to the characters grew stronger. I felt Salem was very naiive at times. The plot twist I was able to guess as a mother lol. Why would you put up a fence to keep Forest out, but leave a latch there so he could get in. The other plot twist I'm unsure if it should've been mentioned. Overall, I enjoyed the banter and how much she was cared for.

If I could give it more stars I would. This book broke me and I’m going to need a few days to get over it. That end just fully tore my heart out.

I loved this way more than I expected too, I went in blind and I am so happy I did.

I feel as though some parts were completely unnecessary, and while I found Salem quite annoying at times I understand that most 18-year-olds do act and think that way. There was cheating involved which put me off from the get go and it diminished my interest in the pair. This book just felt lacking for me.
