Wow that story was pretty intense. I'm glad that Savage got his happy ending with Seychelle and the two of them managed to find a balance in their relationship. I especially like that Christine was able to give us that relationship view without having too much of the sadism front and center as it would certainly have been a trigger for many people. Splitting it into two books was genius. Can't wait to read book too

This book was the hardest for me to get through. I started it Jan 10 and just finished it today Feb 22 because it seemed the first 10 chapters just repeated the same 20 sentences over and over. Out of all the books she has written this one has to be the worst one yet. I normally blow through her books in a day but I just could not get into this one. I'm not wanting to buy book 2 but only going to for series completion sake but I am decibel definitely in no rush to finish their story it was the worst.

"What kind of fuckin' question is that? Look at me, woman. Of course I know all sorts of dirty, sinful things."

I am so happy I am back in the series.
I can't believe it's ending. I never want it to end.
Picked this series up by chance and fell in love with it immediately.

Savage story was special. Every character's story is special, but he is such a precious soul.
This was more than just a romance plotline but a redemption plotline for both of our main characters.
Savage and Seychelle have gone through so much in the past and they are trying to find their own peace in the world and find out the life they want and destiny has set them up together.
While they try to navigate their relationship, it's definitely builds with trust, honesty and because the both of them are so used to being alone, it's hard to navigate that together.

Compared to the other books, this was more invested and in depth to their storyline, personality and the buildup to that relationship.
We are still learning who they are, what they could give and what they need.

I hope in the next one we get more action and I love their honesty and silly conversations they have.

"Her lashes fluttered. The dimple appeared. He found himself looking into the deep blue of her eyes. His heart contracted. She was so fucking beautiful he had no right to even look at her. He'd heard the fairy tale - Beauty and the Beast. Sitting on her bed, looking at her face, that body that was created just for him ... that story could have been theirs."

I went into this knowing it would be dark. Out of all of them, Savage took on the most to keep the others as safe as he could. He was trained VERY young to associate pain with pleasure, and to train others to do the same. His past was mainly told through other's eyes, until now. While he does eventually tell Seychelle of his past, he definitely white-washes it for her, so in that aspect ... I was surprised by his lack of DETAILED backstory that we got from the previous books.

Seychelle has her own traumatizing backstory. She's a healer who doesn't have control of her gift ... and it's killing her. She sees Savage attempt to save a young boy in the beginning of the book. She realizes he's not going to make it, and she steps in to push him and the boy to safety. Taking the hit herself ... cementing the bond between them.

Unable to stay away and "save" her, They slowly build trust between them and work together to figure out how to be together. It's NOT smooth. She has a stalker, and has taken on an evil gaslighting man with a Voice persuasion. She also takes care of the elderly in Sea Haven. There's always the drama with the Club ... the Diamondbacks are up to something, and Pierce has betrayed Alana ... which is definitely going to blow up in the next book.

My mom hated this book, so I was prepared going in. I have to say, I actually loved this one. Feehan stated this was a book that could be skipped for the overall story arc. So I knew it was going to be mainly about Savage and his issues. Turns out, it was also about Seychelle's issues. She's never been attracted to "normal" men. That's not the case with Savage. He calls to her on so many levels. She's struggling to accept the not-normal aspects of their relationship. She's embarrassed, and while she's onboard with what he needs from her, she's not okay with her reactions to the darker wants and cravings.

Savage is SO patient with her. While others in the Club were much more upfront and aggressive with their old ladies, Savage is actually amazing with her. Seychelle is actually more adventurous in some aspects. While his lifestyle is definitely not for me, I always find it interesting to read about those that live it, and the reasons why it's the lifestyle for them. This was a beautiful look into the darker side of normal.

I also loved that Libby made an appearance. She inadvertently revealed a power Savage kept hidden from his club ... and it completely caught Zhar off-guard. It goes a long way into WHY Savage has issues with Rage build-up, and WHY Seychelle is so drawn to him. He's a GOOD man, but he just can't see that in himself.

The book ends on an ominous note though.
SpoilerThe stalker's been dealt with, but the Gaslighter is still out there ... and ... he has to clue Seychelle in to who and what he does for his Club...

I'm looking forward to the next book. I think we're going to see Savage more aggressive towards Seychelle in that book. She HAS to get on board with the Rules that keep them all safe, and how living the Club life is actually going to be for here.

Savage was one of the stories I've been waiting for and seeing him fall in love was as beautiful as it was scary. Can't wait for Savage Road to follow his and Seychelle's journey farther
