Like all of Sanderson's work this was very easy reading. It was also extremely slow to start, with more focus on Rysn and her thoughts regarding her disability than on actual plot. This will be appreciated by many readers, and I'm glad Sanderson spent the time on it. But ultimately this book is far too long for what it actually accomplishes.

Enjoyed this novella more than Edgedancer. It was seafaring adventure in which each character has different motivations and is somewhat of a mystery to find out who is sabotaging the voyage. Overall a good story with some new Cosmere lore that will come into play in the next books… not sure I quite fully understand the implications of what happens at the end, but I’m sure that will become more clear in RoW.

A perfectly serviceable Stormlight Archive book. I got exactly what I expected to get out of it: some new lore, expansion on some side characters. I liked Lopen a lot, he’s funny. Rysn was also interesting and I enjoyed the way disability was discussed with her character.
