Novella in the Shard series. A very standard tale. Rysn is a ship owner, I think she was briefly mentioned in a book in the series. She's lost the use of her legs. She's sent to visit an island that might be hiding a secret. Other secondary characters from the series pop up to have an adventure with plot holes, but not too many. Average.

The cosmere books are always great. This was the first side story/novella I read and it landed so well just like one of the Lopen's jokes that was actually funny.

Really fun adventure with pretty heavy Cosmere consequences!

I’m not 100% sold on some of the character-arc choices here, but others work SO well for me that it makes up for the slack.

It was a blast to see another side of Roshar. Simply exploring this world is enough for me at this point. Sanderson’s world building is nuts. It’s just so good.

Taking a break from Stormlight for the rest of March, most likely. Looking forward to Rhythm of War! I find stepping away for a bit builds the anticipation, which helps propel me through the ramp-up of these CHONKY books.

Much faster paced than previous Stormlight entries due to it being a shorter novel overall. Wonderful representation of a character with a disability as a trait rather than feeling gimmicky or exploitative.
