dear barnes and noble employee,

you were very correct when you said I’d love or hate Ottessa Moshfegh’s writing. I adore it. it’s been so long since a book has spoke to me. I was very surprised by how similar me and the main character were (besides that I am fat, ugly, and trans. so very different there.) the way she desperately wants to sleep was something i relate to. I also was prescribed lots of medication for it. i was heavily relying on Benadryl.

anyways i just loved this book so much i will be picking up more of Ottessa’s books.

Super speciaal boek, maar ik heb er echt elke second van genoten. Een heel vervreemdend boek, waar je je in dezelfde vage situatie voelt als het personage. Het is een ervaring.

I cant tell if the author is trying to make fun of her own writing or if she truly thinks she is clever by writing a sad girl novel about self pity, self entitlement drugs and booze with no real substance to the writing style. there is no real art or even lack of art here to write home about
