An easy-to-follow guide to the Constitution and why it is important.
If you are baffled by the Constitution, which most Americans seem to be, then read this book. It provides insight and analysis into the document itself as well as usage of the document in current events.

I learned so much from this book - highly recommend! Why didn’t we learn this in school???
Useful summary. I mainly learned about the Equal Protection Clause and the rankings of hard, intermediate, and rational basis of scrutiny. The cases on voting rights with states evading federal oversight was wild. Constitution only has five main articles: legislative, executive, courts, states, and amendments. A new constitutional convention approved by the legislature of 34 states could detonate the Constitution as we know it. Who knew?
A must read for anyone who is mildly interested what our Constitution actually means. Not boring!
Kimberly Wehle has written an excellent book that fleshes out our constitution, including the meanings of individual articles, example interpretations of the text, and arguably most importantly, why any of us should give a shit. This should be considered a must read for anyone searching for a life preserver in these uncertain times. While sometimes dense, it is never too complicated to appreciate or learn from. A terrific resource.
This is a really good book explaining, to the lay person, the structure of our government and the powers each branch has. While I think she puts too much personal commentary for this to be a truly academic book, she's very good at explaining the why every one of us should know about and care for our individual rights under the constitution. She also warns against using the constitution to support your political values/results bc doing so erodes the very protections the constitution affords. When the other party gets into power, you've made it that much easier for that party to discount the constitution if you allowed it while your own party was in power.
