This book was a great way to start the new year. It is astonishing that a person who came from such a difficult background could accomplish so much. The details about her life were well presented and the book was engaging throughout.

Shawn babanızdan daha çok zorladın beni psikolojik olarak.Umarım belanı tez elden...

This book is filled with emotion on every page. I’m incredibly inspired by Tara’s story and will continue to follow her story in the media and any other novels she may right. Now to find her PhD dissertation.

That was exhausting. The first half was a real page-turner, and the second half was less suspenseful but more difficult to stomach, emotionally. What a life, and she's still young! Narrative wise, a few parts seemed a little to ... pat? Cleanly sorted out? But then this makes sense, given the model presented to her by her family (chiefly her father and his black/white take on reality). This will be an interesting book club talk.

Yes, it is as good as the hype. An amazing story of family, toxicity, resiliency, and education both formal and life. Years ago I recall a Professor of Sociology saying that the family can be the biggest gangster group to its members.
