KBR did it again. If they know something, it's writing romance, and they've done it again. I loved seeing more of Rocky and Phoebe's relationship and how they managed to overcome all the obstacles in their way.

Seeing how the Tinrocks and Graves run an actual con was the highlight of the book for me—the way they worked together as a family and cared for each other.

And let's not forget the DRAMA! I was living for it throughout the entire book. It kept me hooked right until the end, and I seriously can't wait for the next book.

Destructively Mine will be released on April 29, 2025.
If you like the boy-obsessed trope, found family, and seeing con artists run schemes, I highly recommend this series.

I absolutely loved and tore through DISHONESTLY YOURS, so the second one in the series was a bit of a let down. Now that I wasn’t pining for the two main characters to get together, there was so much less to root for—and I simply did not care for the actual plot. The Ritchie twins are so good at character and DESTRUCTIVELY MINE was so focused on the con that it wasn’t as much of a good time as the previous one. It also got a bit far fetched and more difficult to suspend disbelief. I still had a good time, it just wasn’t what I was expecting.

3.5 ⭐️

Destructively Mine picks up right where Dishonestly Yours left off, continuing the chaotic, twist-filled ride of Rocky and Phoebe’s fiery romance and diving deeper into the tangled web of con artistry that hooked us in book one. The plot thickens as we get more insight into the family dynamics, with side characters like Hailey, Oliver, Nova, Jake, and Trevor stealing the spotlight at times—and honestly? They were some of the best parts of the book.

That said, this sequel felt like a mixed bag. While the story is undeniably addictive and full of twists, it often felt like too much was happening at once. The pacing was uneven, with a slow build heavy on filler chapters and an action-packed final quarter that didn’t leave much room to breathe between plot twists. Some of those shocks landed, while others felt predictable or underwhelming. And that ending? It’s giving why did they do this to us?!

As for Rocky and Phoebe—their relationship remains intense, but its hyper-sexual focus left little space for emotional depth or growth. The constant steam started to feel repetitive, especially when more meaningful, vulnerable moments could have added richness to their dynamic. Unfortunately, despite being our POV characters, they didn’t feel as compelling as the rest of the cast. A few additional perspectives might’ve added the complexity this book needed.

Still, the sibling dynamics and found family vibes were strong and heartwarming. You can tell the characters would walk through fire for each other, which adds a needed emotional anchor to the chaos. The Ritchie sisters clearly have something unique going here, but this installment felt like it got a little lost trying to do too much. Here’s hoping the next book tightens things up—because I’m absolutely here for Hailey’s story and whatever cons come next.

This book picks up after book 1 where the group figures out who they are. I loved book 1 especially with the introduction of who they are and this book goes more into them finding out who they are. I enjoyed the storyline and of course the author’s writing style. When I read their books, it always feels like a movie is playing in my head which I love. However, as that happened, you can tell this book is different from the others. The authors are good with ensuring they don’t jump around scenes or last long on one scene, however it wasn’t really the same for this. Especially towards the ending. This book is told from both Rocky and Pheobe’s pov.

Rocky and Pheobe were the MCs of book 1 and now book 2. I loved exploring their characters more and seeing them able to be together. I loved seeing their love for each other. Then we have out side characters and I love our new addition, Jake. He’s amazing, and I’m excited to see his character go further in the books. I also loved the whole Hailey love triangle storyline and I can’t wait to see how that goes. Along with Trevor doing something he shouldn’t have. There is more spice in this book compared to book 1.

The ending was the best part of the book, but I hate how the authors skipped one scene after what Trevor did. Like what happened next? What did they do? It automatically went to the next day scene. The twins are good with explaining but this scene was not there. However, I am excited to see where the last book ends. I feel like it’s going to be a long book because of how many open ended information was left but we will see. This book is similar to the Addicted series which I know some will love, wouldn’t mind or hate. This book is perfect for fans of Outer Banks and Addicted series.

I'm speechless...if book 1 was good, this book is INCREDIBLE.
K&B mentioned that they think this is their best work and I can't deny it.

After the way book 1 ended, we finally have all our questions answered. We find much more mature characters and get to know them better. The way K&B writes these characters and their relationships...no one does it like these 2!

The amount of detail that goes into this book is surreal. You can definitely see how much work went into this story. It's so much more fascinating and addictive. You just discover something new on every page that makes you question everything.

Without a doubt the best book of the year (so far)!

Special thanks to NetGalley for the arc.
