Ugh. Now I have to wait until next year for the next one!!! Someone remind me why I keep reading series that aren't finished?

I love the story, I love the characters and the ship sails far for my favourite couple. But, OMG, how didn’t any of the Potatoes figure out what was right under their noses. Insane…

Another exciting installment in the Pandava Series! In this book, Aru and her friends are joined by Kara, who Aru discovers is the Sleeper's other daughter. Family and friendship loyalties are stretched to their limits in this book, as the gang struggles to know who they can count on. Not only do they have to decide if Kara deserves their trust (after all, she was basically raised by the Sleeper), but they're also dealing with revelations about Boo that challenge everything they ever believed about him---and challenge their belief in themselves as well. The gang has to figure out how to trust themselves enough to make it through (yet another) series of challenges in order to get a weapon that will help them fight the Sleeper. And, of course, both Aru and (especially) Kara are feeling torn about the Sleeper in general since he's their dad.
As with the past books, this one includes characters from many ancient Hindu tales (and some of those characters recount their original stories for the gang). The battles with gods and goddesses are quite epic, and the pacing is perfect. I was a little surprised by what seemed like a somewhat drawn-out conclusion (there's a time-skip at the end of the book), but then it all makes sense when some game-changing revelations occur that will change relationships in the book forever. Can't wait for the conclusion to this series to come out next year!!

Look, I just get irritated when a series of books ends up with things getting worse every time. And when the flimsiest of lies lets the evil-doer win. I know, that's how mythology is! And this is a mythologically-based book! But I'm only giving it 3 stars for those reasons.
