Good overview of key terms and concepts. Fairly surface level, and talks at you, not with you, despite the conversation questions. Still, if you’re new to intersectional conversations and social justice work around identity, this is a really good overview. Even if you’re not new, it is a nice handbook of sorts to have as a reference guide.

Clear, well researched look at how to be a more aware and understanding member of the population in 2022. Blair has a beautiful style that explains complex ideas simply while also being caring and kind. A must read for anyone who interacts with other humans.
Blair is an incredible educator and writer. Her collaborations with other educators to make sure the topics are in depth and spoken by those who live through those experiences is amazing. This is a must read for everyone, its even better as a listen as she reads it. You will learn something even if you think you know everything about the topics she talks about.
I love Blair’s Smarter in Seconds videos and this was no different - I absolutely loved this book and will always recommend her for anyone who is actively trying to unlearn biases

A quick read if you're looking to improve your knowledge on how to discuss a variety of different topics that can be challenging to find the right words that do not unintentionally cause harm. For those who have read books on topics like race and sexuality, some of the information may feel basic but I appreciated the holistic approach. The book is brief in touching on a vast number of topics and I'd love to see more detailed deep dives. I think this book would be great to use with professional DEI book clubs and will be suggesting it at work!
