This was a very fun read. Has many tropes I enjoy and the smut scenes are plentiful and well done.
Never read a shifter romance with two alphas so that was an added bonus.

2 - it was ok

This book tells the story of Taryn Warner, latent alpha werewolf and daughter of another alpha werewolf. Her father is determined to use her as a bargaining chip to curry an alliance with another alpha, Roscoe, who is determined to have Taryn as his mate. But Roscoe is cruel and wants to break her, so she is desperate to get out of the situation.

Trey Coleman, alpha of the somewhat newly formed Phoenix pack, needs alliances when there is a challenge to his pack. And he thinks that he and Taryn can broker a deal to help him get it. All they have to do is pretend to temporarily be true mates, and she'll be out of her bind and he may get an alliance with her dad.

But what neither of them expects is when their own feelings progress beyond that of their deal, and what that may mean for them and their respective futures.

This book was ok, not my favorite. It was written all right, but I'm not a big fan of overly controlling and "dominant" alpha males. The book does say at the beginning that this will be the case, so nods to the author for stating it up front, but I just...didn't jive with it. I didn't like Trey at all, which makes the book hard to like in general, as he is half of it. I liked Taryn and her spunk, though, and am glad that she gives him absolute shit for his shenanigans the whole book.

Also, I felt like the sex scenes were kind of just...rushed? Not detailed enough? I guess. They were certainly there, but nothing to get excited over ;)

Overall, just not the book for me.

4 stars!

I love shifter books, especially wolf shifters! But it's so hard to find books like this one that really take me into that world and make me believe in that paranormal aspect. Wright recreated a wonderful world that I just loved! I don't think I've encountered a shifter book that I enjoyed as much as I enjoyed this one!!
