Like the first book in this series, this was a cute, fun read. In this second book Hades and Persephone's relationship develops more. The one thing I really enjoyed in this second book specifically is that you get to learn more about how the underworld is constructed (which is different from the actual underworld in Greco-Roman mythology). You also get to see Persephone's influence on the underworld, changes that are starting to happen and how she will be as the Queen one day.

I really liked the first book, but I am torn on this one.
I love how this author has mashed Greek mythology into a modern day setting. She does it well. The writing is sound, the situations are clever, and the side characters make me smile and even laugh.
I still like Hades, but I found Persephone hard to like in this book. She’s super judgmental, lashes out a lot, and treats others badly. Her decisions get progressively worse as she gains more knowledge.
She’s constantly angry, and the chronic doubt in her relationship with Hades left me thinking Hades deserves better.
I was invested enough to finish it, and fortunately, Persephone gets a little better at the end. I still love the concept.
