Powerful. And an important reminder that pretty much every decent aspect of modern American society came to pass because of grassroots protest, and to claim otherwise shows a willful disregard for history.

Disclaimer: this was assigned reading for my MG and YA class.
I don't think there's a single thing this book did poorly and I don't think there's a single thing this book failed at. I can't think of anything that could be done better about the way they told this story. It was a joy to read.
Not only was the syntax really gripping and at times outstandingly beautiful, but the narrative was presented in a way that would captivate the attention of young readers and convey the vitality and emotion of the movement at that time.
Recommend this to all readers of all ages.

This is my 2nd autobiography graphic novel and I have to say it's great.
The story was so interesting because I read about the sit-ins with the picture book by Andrea Davis Pickney but wow, John Lewis met Martin Luther King Jr.
I can't wait to continue to March book 2.
