The Hiding Place

Corrie ten Boom

4.4 AVERAGE

Right after I read this book I gave it a 4 (I seldom give 5s)but I had to go back and give it that 5 star when I realized that this is a book that stays with you and is something everyone should read.

Read for book club, and opposite of my usual reads. Not a history or religion person.

This book is short but impactful. I saw some reviews complaining that the religion is too strong, but it would be wrong if it wasn't, since clearly it was such an important part of Corrie's life. I may be biased as a Christian, but I still can't stand when book shove beliefs or lack thereof down my throat, and I didn't get that feeling from this book at all. It doesn't sugar coat the concentration camps, but it still leaves the reader with a real sense of hope.

Best I've read this year 😭💜

I had to read this for school and to be honest I liked this book. It was inspirational and very Christian so I enjoyed reading about God. It was a lovely, touching stroy. I recommened this book for those who love God and trust Him.

emotional inspiring

I don't think there are words to express how brilliant this book is or how exceptional the author and all the other characters are. The truth is far stranger than fiction, I will never understand how such evil arose, I understand even less that that same evil is rising again, the form may be unfamiliar but the evil is the same.

This was a good book and much appreciated. It would’ve been 5 stars but I couldn’t get away from the feeling of religious propaganda, that being said this is a book more ppl should read. A story of braver, horror , forgiveness and hope.
