This is a perfectly acceptable adult mystery. There's intrigue, suspense, and a mystery that you really won't see coming.
It's just not my kind of mystery. I can't put my finger on why, exactly. Maybe it's because I really, really didn't care about Alex's chapters. He's a perfectly nice young man, but I found his chapters boring and drawn out, even after Pearl starts opening up to him.
Quinn's chapters were far more interesting, though I found her conclusion leaping intensely over the top. I don't know why you would immediately leap to the conclusion that your roommate was trying to kill you. I mean...maybe I just don't understand because I don't do the roommate thing.
The glue holding this entire plot together is from a bottle bought in 1973. It still works, but don't touch your finished project too often, or it's all going to fall apart. But again, I didn't see the ending coming at all. So, well done on that front. ::shrug::

Way to much filler... the story idea was great just did not like the way it was told... kept thinking it would get better and it did not.

5⭐️ shocked and delighted to finally give a thriller 5 stars. I have no notes, this was a great read and I enjoyed how it unfolded very much!

Another electrifying psychological suspense thriller from the queen Mary Kubica. Love the rich details of her stories and the gentle rise to climax which keeps you begging for more. Mary Kubica, the Queen, never disappoints

Such a disappointing read. I had to skim the whole book just to find out what happened.

Holy twists and turns and never being able to accurately predict what the hell is actually going on. Enjoyed--recommend. Can't say much else without risking spoilers, and that's not my style!

This book started out a solid 5 stars. Great and captivating right from the start and held pretty steady till it got closer to the middle/end. It was heavily predictable in some areas and a little surprising in others but the ending was a joke.

The book slowly gets better throughout, but it does take a while to ultimately get there. It is a good, unpredictable mystery - but it ultimately doesn't give the reader all the possible clues need to possibly put together before the real reveal occurs. That being said, it does make most of the choices right, and is on the verge of a 4-star rating - but never quite got there
