Interesting plot. *Terrible* character development. I wonder if this author ever received feedback to "show not tell."

I LOVED this book. I was in a bit of a slump and this got me out of it. I could not put this book down! There are 3 storylines happening but I enjoyed seeing how everything came together. I also had no idea who the killer was until it was revealed so I was genuinely surprised. Redemption Road was fast paced and kept my full attention. This was my first John Hart book and it will definitely not be my last.

If you enjoy thrillers but are tired of the formula some books follow, this is the book for you.

Stands out for plot and pacing. Good characters, everyone deeply flawed in some fashion. Some you root for, some you want to see get what you think they deserve.

Although right up until the end, you won't know what they deserve.

Lots of layers.

Wow!!! I thought I had figured out who the villain was pretty early (35-40%), needless to say, I was pretty shocked when the villain was revealed. I like it when an author can throw a curve like that.

There were a few different storylines going on here but not so much that it was confusing to the reader. The story was well written unlike so many other books I've read where an author had way too much going on and the story turns out to be a hot mess.

I LOVED the ending, especially the epilogue. Perfect ending!!! The one thing that I didn't like were most of the parents in this story. Despicable and worthless human beings the whole lot of them. It's people like these who should never be allowed to raise children or become parents.

Three storylines were at least one too many !! A serial killer, evil prison warder and kidnapper/rapists all connected to the same group of people ???

It's been a long time since I read a mystery and that kept me guessing until the very end. I thought the beginning of the book was a little slow but the pace picks up and so many of the characters stories are interwoven in a way that is heartbreaking. Hart does a great job of showing just how blurry the line between good and evil is and I found the story unsettling but riveting. I'm going to have to pick up another of his books and see if the trend continues.

I liked the book, but it's more of a 3.5. I didn't like the ending, it felt wrong somehow.

John Hart does a great job of grabbing your attention and then keeping the gas pedal pushed to the floor. Not sure how that he comes up with his storyline ideas but I hope that it is not from real life or that he has dreams about them. He may not be sleeping too well. my only thing with this particular book is that I named the real killer pretty early on and figured out most of the reason. he did make me doubt my idea at one point but not completely. I still stayed interested because he was able to throw a few twists into the plot. toward the end just a couple rang a bit hollow for me. Overall, I really enjoyed this book.
