Let’s start, it is the actress Megan Fox and these poems are raw, personal, heartbreaking and sublime. She is not wrong with her sub title; “A Collection of F**ked Up Fairy Tales” as it exposes her love and abuse with one or more men.
The poems fluctuate from “rather be miserable with you, than happy without you” to knowing she deserves more, it also tingles and weaves Greek myths, and women's universal socialization of being less so weak men can feel better.
However, it is difficult to hear some of the amount of abuse, the various methods, and worse the love she still has for them.
This book is for anyone who enjoys poems, and “semi” auto-biographical books.

the collected felt very random to me, some parts feeling out of order where they might worked better somewhere else, and the asthetic of the physical design was odd. i just didn’t connect at all and found the writing not to click level wise.

I'm sure Megan Fox is a very nice person and I hope this book has helped her to process some trauma. She is very sincere in her attempt to write meaningful poetry. Unfortunately, being sincere is not the same as being good.

I’m putting this in the middle because I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it either. It’s hard to put a rating on someone’s personal experiences but the writing style just didn’t work for me. I’m an advocate for cathartic writing and sharing one’s truth, and I don’t regret reading this but it could have been executed better. I didn’t have very high expectations to begin with though, since Megan Fox is an actress and not a poet. I enjoyed the themes of the book as well as the illustrations. I believe younger me would’ve LOVED this.
