What I thought would be a memoir was instead a book of poems about the horrendous abuse that she has endured. WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS?? I am filled with devastation and rage for her.

Heartbreakingly dark and easy to devour! New Valentine’s Day read tradition!

Something about Megan Fox’s words heal me. So many of these hit home. So short idk if I’d count it as a book but that’s my only complaint.

I listened to this, which was a nice experience because Megan Fox read it. I did feel that her emotion showed through the words. Some poems are hard to hear, but resonated with me and some of my experiences. Some poems felt unnecessarily 'writerly' (using large, complicated words or references in a somewhat pretentious way), there were a lot of allusions that seemed to be thrown in almost haphazardly. Because many of the poems are short, it felt to me like some of the allusions weren't fully fleshed out. This, of course, could be intentional.

I think reading this may have a different impact than listening to it. I didn't realize at first that the titles of the poems came at the end, so had to go back and re-listen to a few.

Overall, it is a quick read/listen, and gives a lot of insight into extremely difficult circumstances in Ms. Fox's life. These are deeply personal poems, and I do think they are worth reading. It seemed to me like some editing would have been beneficial.

I'm kind of depressed after reading this, but it was true and good.

I loved getting to hear (I listened to the audiobook version) this side of Megan fox that is rarely ever showcased. I love the raw emotion you can feel in her words and then 10 seconds later you can also laugh at her clever sly jabs. she’s such a fascinating human being and part of me wished there was more depth to some of the poems.

Brutal

This was bad. Just plain bad
